In early December 2009 while working on the Bolton Public Library Children's Room Mural I was asked if I knew of any artists who would volunteer to transform a child's room. Brendan 6 years old, diagnosed with brain cancer a few eeks earlier. He is OBSESSED with fish so it was agreed we would surprise him with an undersea world. He went away with his family for three days to Florida to see his sister in a cheerleading competition.
I sent an email out to artists and assistants and got an immediate and heartening response at a very busy time of year.
I made a colorful plan in Photoshop for 4 walls and a ceiling, bought paints and we got to work.
2 all nighters and a long day later the awesome crew finished what was an ambitious undertaking that made a fun environment for a boy facing hardship.
