The Worcester County Horticultural Society’s Plant Sale Preview Party is an eagerly awaited annual event that helps to raise funds for Tower Hill Botanic Garden. This year’s Plant Sale Preview Party is on Friday, May 29th, the evening before our annual plant sale. The party runs from 5:30 to 8:30. Every year we feature a silent auction of selected items of interest to gardeners and the general public.
This year we are asking several well known artists to contribute their talents by creating specially decorated plant pots for auction at the party.
Tower Hill will provide the 15” terracotta pots. Pots may be picked up at Tower Hill, or other arrangements made, by calling Janet Pane-Joyce, Development Coordinator, at 508-869-6111, ext. 114 or emailing jpane-joyce@towerhillbg.org. Creations should be submitted by at least two weeks before the event (the sooner the better,) so that we may display them in our lobby and on the website. All pots will be auctioned off on the night of the event. We hope to have at least ten pots, with a maximum of twenty.
This is a new idea for the party which we are trying out this year, and we know that, with your help, it will generate a lot of interest for the event – and also raise money for Tower Hill!
For additional inspiration, we have enclosed a picture of a pot done by Andy Warhol. While this pot will not be there, we would be delighted to have one created especially by you.
