Household Goods Recycling of Massachusetts

HGRM serves about 275 families a month up from 250 of a year ago.

excerpted from HGRM Newsletter
Since most people who come to HGRM look for sets of furniture – for example, a kitchen table with chairs – there are many single chairs left in the warehouse. These chairs are older, a little unusual and frequently made of wood. We had an idea for putting these chairs to use while raising awareness and funds for the organization

and creating art at the same time. We’re calling the event “A Chair to Sit On”. We’re asking local artists to take the chairs and create something wonderful with them: paint them, decorate them, remake them into sculptures – anything they can come with – and then we’ll auction them off to benefit HGRM. Powers Gallery in Acton is helping us recruit artists and is holding the final auction on May 1, 2009 at the Gallery.

We will also hold an online auction through cMarket prior to this and combine it with the onsite auction at Powers Gallery.

Burlington MA Dandelion Green circa 1979

Can anyone identify these children. It was a nice blond women who commissioned me in 1979-81 to paint protraits of her children. They would be 34 and 38 maybe?

We worked together at the Dandelion Green restaurant in Burlington MA.

Stripers are Running

A Commissioned Watercolor and my favorite testimonial

Bruce,

I gave my husband the "striped bass" painting and he absolutely loved it! He said it was the best present he ever received. Some day I would like to do a similar painting of a blue fish and another of a false albacore. I would also like to do a portrait of our daughter.

You are so talented and I can't wait to display your work in our home. He wanted to put it in his office so he could look at it all day but I want to see it too.

Thanks again. It is beautiful! ~L.L.
